I used to see Betty (and Adolf & Phyllis out at the theater rather often). One of my favorite spottings was Betty & Adolf sitting with Al Hirschfeld on a bench in the lobby of the Martin Beck (now named for Hirschfeld). I was dying to speak to them but there was far too much theatrical legend wattage for the lowly likes of me to approach.
