If only because he not only looks good young and more mature (still does, for that matter - put him on the short list, with Omar Sharif, of eligible-at-any-age), but in both classic posing briefs and the rather more distinctive fashion choice of diaper, suspenders, swashbuckler boots, and plait.
At the beginning of his career, it was notable that a former bodybuilder and artists' model was able to make for himself a film career; by the middle, it is truly astonishing that, even as one of the biggest stars in the world, he was able to move beyond the stills from Zardoz, let alone the movie itself.
it really is remarkable that nothing seems to take away his hotness...not age, not baldness....not even a diaper.
ReplyDeleteI’m too sexshi for my bandolier.
ReplyDeleteGreat Scot!
His costume designer should be shaken, not stirred.
i think the diaper outfit is from the movie,"zardoz". the movie was fogettable but not him...
ReplyDeleteZardoz was one of the oddest movies I have ever seen... this shot would look great in a mashup with Barbarella... But Sean always looks good.
ReplyDeleteoh the curl of that lower lip and that burr.
ReplyDeleteIt's been pure, mad love since I was a but a wee gayboy and saw him as Michael McBride at a Saturday matinee of Disney's Darby O'Gill and the Little People (not to be confused with the lesser quality but still amusing Disney musical tale of wee-folk, The Gnome-Mobile - though both were based on books by the smashingly-named Herminie Templeton Kavanagh).
Ahhhh... Zardoz fuelled many a youthful sexual fantasy of mine... not only Sean but Charlotte Rampling, and Sara Kestelman - the Tilda Swinton of her generation. And for cinema of the absurd, you still can't go past it.
ReplyDeleteZardoz was beyond bad. It was enormously, flagrantly, nefariously, monumentally bad!
