The Day of the Locust

It's taken so long, and been such a convoluted, frequently absurd process that even with the news of Phil Spector's conviction, we run the risk of losing sight of who really should be in our thoughts today.

Lana Clarkson's life reads like a Hollywood cautionary tale, the story of an almost-ran who never lost her movie-star dreams. It ended so very, very badly, becoming a tale that would take the talent of a Nathanael West to do it justice. Although in a way, he already did.
