There's no way to know of course, but I'm very, very afraid that these sisters are likely to be boogeying to "Happy Talk" from South Pacific. Although I suppose a garden-variety Conga is just as likely...
RUTH SHERWOOD: What do you think of the USA...NRA...TVA What do you think of our Mother's Day What do you think of the...
ADMIRALS: Conga!
I'm thinking the dear sisters are either singing that one or this one -
Flying down the highway in my makeshift Model T.A.
Woo! yeah! woo...
It's a beautiful morning and it's gonna be a beautiful day
The wheels are humming and the guitar's strumming and the radio is blasting and good sounds are coming as we're flying down the highway in a makeshift Model T.A.
We're gonna keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on dancing all through the night.
We're gonna keep on, keep on, keep on doing it right
Oh, Bill - you read my mind, and you don't know how I tried. All I could come up with was the end of the stanza, though: "What do you think of the B.V.M./And what you think of the... Conga!"
The only rhyme that came to mind that might have fit was "Papal gems", and somehow that didn't do.
I've now decided that I'm really hoping this is a spontaneous bunny-hop that broke out when "Filthy/Gorgeous" came on. Although, as usual, Peenee may well be right...
I think the mushrooms in the background tell us all we need to know.
ReplyDeleteI'm frightened of nuns. And possibly thombeau's new pic.
ReplyDeleteNunsense. The girls are obviously shaking their good things to Beyoncé's Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It.)

Or maybe Kander & Ebb's "City Lights"...Sister Mary Vincent is crushing hard on Liza ever since the white Halston suit.

ReplyDeleteBill, I genuflect in your general direction. Betty and Adolph would be proud. Or appalled. Or both. But definitely amused!
