  1. Ah, Muscato, you always bring a smile to my face!
"All About Eve"...don't you agree that this has to be one of the 5 greatest motion pictures of all times?
An anecdote: when this film came out, my grandmother, may she rest in peace, went to see it, and her puritanical German sensibilities were so overwhelmed that she huffed and walked out of the theatre in disgust. As a result, until I dared to buy the film myself, I grew up thinking that "All About Eve" was a porn film!

  3. I just adore Thelma. I just watched her this past weekend in "Move Over, Darling."

My mother's good friend Rose is Ms. Ritter reincarnated. A hardscrabble Brooklyn gal who's seen it all. So deadpan and straight talking and absolutely hilarious.

  4. MR - my grandmother was, for reasons I've never fully understood, exactly like that with the Linda Darnell movie Forever Amber. The result is that anything with Linda Darnell in it makes me feel guilty.

    As perhaps it ought to.

L and B - oh, yeah - no question that Eve rocks, and Thelma too. Those Brooklyn dames know what's what and aren't afraid to tell you all about it.
