Last month we looked at the marital adventures of the man Louise Brooks called "Saint Humphrey." The star's third marriage, to the tempestuous Miss Mayo Methot, is usually looked on as little more than a regrettable gateway to his fourth, final, and legendarily happy pairing.Still, looking at this snap of Hum, Mayo, and the pups, you can see how they might have had some laughs. With her well-known fondness for hooch and, it seems, a less celebrated one for terriers, ol' Mayo might well have been a good old girl. I may be a little fonder of the former Miss Perske of Brooklyn than she, but other than that, I think we would have gotten along just fine...
