I think of Kay Francis as something of the Café mascot. She's dropped by, in languishing mood beneath her fetching hat (and apparently doing a Marisa-Berenson-in-Cabaret impression), to mark this august occasion: the 1,400th post.Why this matters, I couldn't say. But anything that gives us a chance to pause and consider Miss Francis must have some (dare I say it?) point...
