Suddenly, a Year Passed

Insert your favorite cliché about time passing here, kids...

Because while I can't really conceive it, it's a year today since we arrived in the U.S.

Well, it hasn't been dull, except perhaps in the very briefest of stretches.  In the course of 12 months, we've managed to fit quite a bit in:  rediscovering old friends (and making new ones); settling into what's turned out to be a quite temporary apartment; adjusting to this bizarre climate in which the weather insists, stubbornly, on changing; dealing with a variety of things on the professional front (source of some of that dullness I mentioned, but also providing opportunities like trips to Vienna, however trying they sometimes turn out to be); oh, and getting married.  That one has never been dull and shows no sign of ever being so.

Now we face the prospect of moving once again, and it really doesn't seem so bad.  Right now, at least.  And who knows where we'll be a year from now?  That's not for us to worry about, not just now.  At the moment, the Mister's on his way home (he's working weekends these days), there's Chinese delivery also heading our way, the dogs are walked and happy, and really things could be a great deal worse.

And how's your weekend?
