Arms and the Man

Sixty-three years ago today, Mr. Marlon Brando apparently celebrated Veterans' Day by pumping a little iron.  If nothing else, we can all be grateful that Life was there.  He's never been my favorite actor (extraordinary talent fatally undercut by what would seem to be the utter absence of a sense of humor), but in his youth, there's no denying he had a Certain Something, no?

  1. I have seen some exceptionally beautiful shots of Mr Brando, but I do agree he was the most uncharismatic of actors. Of course the very best shot of Mr Brando was the one supressed until his death... Jx

  2. You do know that Marlon Brando and Wally Cox had a very intense bromance. Think of Mr. Peepers suckling on the Marlon's nipple.

  3. I believe there may be a connection between these two comments, as I was under the impression that there was a strong possibility that the arresting image that dear Jon linked to in face depicts both Messrs. Brando andCox. Apparently that sly old Hollywood Squares milquetoast was more aptly named than any of us ever dreamed...
