Birthday Boy: Rock, Star

It hardly seems possible, but it seems I've never seen Lover, Come Back...

Because if I had, it would be inconceivable that I wouldn't remember the vision of Rock Hudson in a beard.  That's a sight no person with a scintilla of discernment could forget.

He'd only be 88 today.

  1. But definitely, from all accounts, no deficit of vigor...

    1. Oh, I know. Believe me, I know. On sheer it, I'm not sure he's ever been matched.

    2. If "believe me, I know," means that you spent some time in Roy's company somewhere along the way, you may color me emerald green with envy. Dish, Boy, dish.

    3. Alas, the "believe me" was rhetorical only; while we did once share a room, it was a crowded theatre, as he played Arthur in Camelot - and very creditably, too.

  3. I was visiting my friend John who was Tab Hunter's lover at the time. Tab's manager was also Rock's. He told me that I was perfect for Rock and wanted to set me up with him. I probably should have done it.

    1. Yes, you probably should, although some things may be left better to the imagined might-have-been. I suppose making a play for Tab was out of the question...
