Flashback: High High Cool

Once upon a time, children, a dark force called Malcolm McLaren, master of all things glittery and meretricious, ruled the earth.

One day, he happened on a little Burmese-English girl called Myint Myint Aye* and decided to make her a star.

So she became, by fiat, Annabella, and actually was a star, for something over Mr. Warhol's fifteen minutes if not much more.

You have to admit; she's got the only look that hasn't dated...

Bow Wow Wow and all that seems awfully distant now, and I tend to think of her more as "The other Annabella" (because she was never Mrs. Tyrone Power), but every now and then a good dose of "I Want Candy" is just what the doctor ordered.

And can you imagine getting away today with releasing an album titled See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang, Yeah! City All Over Go Ape Crazy?
