Hail the New...
...ye lads and/or lasses...
As expected, an early-ish night and so a fine morning devoid of the fantods and queasiness that so often came with the new years of yesteryear. Just as well; nothing like having dogs and no yard to motivate one into a brisk 7:00 a.m. walk.
I hope you're having as pleasant a first day of 2014 as we. Today a little more bubbly just for the heck of it, a final finishing off of as much of the holiday leftovers as possible, and, inevitably, further brisk walks.
As opposed to ol' Karl there, second from left - I suspect he was more familiar with perp walks than brisk ones...

Today we will feast on day old homemade lasagna, and lounge about with the pups, who have claimed us as their lounge cushions.
ReplyDeleteAs ever, the "fantods [a word worthy of Stephen Fry!] and queasiness" are only just beginning to clear, as I begin anew the quaffing of leftover alcohol from our house party last night. Everything else is in the bin... Start 2014 as you mean to go on, I say! Jx
ReplyDeleteI always told Karl, "Ditch the monocle, Doll. It draws attention to your face and, let's be honest, that's not where you want the boys looking. Why do you think I wear these damn corsages all the time?"
ReplyDeleteOur cabooses were really the moneymakers. Every 15 minutes or so we'd sashay around the bar to really sell 'em.
What really drove me crazy was that prissy minx Moritz's goddam two-tone necklace and that tacky shaved rabbit hat. Bad enough how much he looked like a shaved rabbit out of that cheap crepe dinner dress!
