One Man Band

The last time we checked in with musical prodigy Alaa Wardi, he was turning the semi-dross of Lorde's "Royals" into something rich and strange.

Now he's back with a new sensation that's sweeping the Arabic world. It's an extremely clever recap of nearly a century of pop music from across the region, combining more than three dozen familiar hits and featuring nothing more (and nothing less) than his own voice and some highly inventive visual effects that turn him into a one-man musical number.

He's definitely got a hot-geek thing going on, and while he's a little on the young side, well, there's just something about talent that's almost always pretty attractive, don't you think?

  1. He is rather charming and I like the song a lot, even if I don't get any of the references. Best of all is the fez. I think I'd look swell in a fez.

  2. He certainly outshines Peter Lorre, Tommy Cooper, Sydney Greenstreet, and the Shriners of Sweet Apple, Ohio with his fez wearing abilities.

I haven't seen anyone look this cute in a fez since Matt Smith. Morocco Mole will always wear one best, but Mr. Wardi does come close.

  3. Reminiscent of the one and only Cher playing all the parts in West Side Story. Maybe the two of them should team up.
