It wasn't until the Christmas party that Darcie learned that Daddy had ever crossed paths with her new college chum Edgar before. If she'd known just where they'd met, of course, it could have saved her three more semesters of trying to get Edgar to slow dance with her at one of the Alpha Chi dances.
Later, she realized that the penny hadn't fully dropped until the two of them ran off to start that boutique in Fort Lauderdale...
