Memory Lane: The Love We Feel

Ah, the joys of 1990!  It was a remarkable year, for me at least - the first full year in a rather glam job, one that brought with it the first trips abroad, to London and Paris, Berlin (West and East) and Tokyo.  Not to mention a memorable cross-country car trip, New York to San Francisco, as '90 turned into '91.  Whatever the destination, this number was most definitely on the soundtrack...

Is it really possible that it was released a quarter-century ago?  Talk about time in its flight.

These days, while I do still roam, it's not necessarily if I want to, and while the trip does still begin with a kiss, what matters now is that it ends with one, too, back home.  As for taking it hip to hip, well, I don't know about you, but at 51 there are moments when the word "hip" is less likely call up images of rockin' it through the wilderness than it is of such possibilities as "fracture" and "replacement."

Still, the ever-young Bs can always take me back, in just the moment it takes to summon up that great opening vocal - "I hear a wind..."

  1. Oh dear....my 1990 was miserable as could be, if I remember it correctly.
    I'll try not to.

Of course, this song was a little light in the darkness at least.
