Café PSA: A Timely Reminder
While I know that such Gentle Readers as regularly pass by here hardly need such basic information, once again I feel obliged to remind a broader cher publique...
In her infinite wisdom, Dame Etiquette cares little for the diktats of Congress, and whatever day might in these low times be devoted to mattress sales and regrettable outdoor cuisine, really nice people hold off on white shoes until safely after the real Decoration Day, which is of course the thirtieth of May.
Anyone caught out in this delicate matter is likely to be savaged by persons of discriminating taste and distinction. Better safe than sorry, no? If you have any doubts, just go ask Patty...

Here in the UK we have no such compunction. It's wellies and waterproofs, whatever the season - but definitely never brown shoes in town... Jx
