Ladies First and Otherwise
Whatever their political opinions, the membership of the Ashtabula Literary Society thought Mrs. Roosevelt displayed admirable composure when she came to their monthly Book Night.
Not everybody was as calm as she when faced with both the Schoenheimer Twins. As if Gordon in his usual black crepe weren't enough, Dora was having one of her seasonal Ophelia spells. Four months ago the two them had given Daphne Du Maurier such a turn she went back to the Hotel Beckford and got more stinko than any guest they'd had since Dorothy Parker.
