As is our custom, it's a joy from all of us - Mr. Muscato, Koko, Boudi, Mrs. Galapatti-da Silva, and me - to send you all best wishes on this Karen Valentine's Day!
You got me thinking, Cookie, so I looked her up. At 66, she appears to be more or less retired - her last screen credit was 2004 (a TV movie). She appears to do a fair number of nostalgia-cons; here she is at one in 2011, looking well and refreshingly un-lifted/puffed/pulled. Good on her. I always sort of thought Sally Field stole her career.
But what connection does she have with Gary Cooper, Patsy Kelly, Pola Negri, Robert Taylor, Zeppo Marx, Quentin Crisp, "Our Gang," Rock Hudson, Soupy Sales, Dwight Bodeen, Samson De Brier and Tommy Rettig (the subjects of the "Where are they now..?" book she's guarding)? Jx
A memorable, never-to-be-repeated night at an otherwise quite wholly obscure motel in Encino. All involved were sworn to silence, but none of them was ever quite the same again. Especially Patsy Kelly.
And where is Karen these days?
ReplyDeleteI think she's still teaching at that high school.
ReplyDeletelove this dress she's wearing.
ReplyDeleteChannel 7 (ABC in the NY metro area) on Friday nights. Brady Bunch, Partridge Family, Room 222. One of my favorite lineups ever.
ReplyDeleteHappy middling sitcom success to you all!
